If you want to put your skills to full use and learn a lot every day, joining us is a great way to do it.
We are not another agency doing websites. We develop Smart TV apps. We have been doing it for many years and become experts in it. To keep things fresh, we also like to do something new from time to time - we have prototyped products for innovation centers using the latest bleeding edge technology or worked on IoT projects for example. You’ll not get bored here.
You’ll meet a lot of React and Redux here, use new technologies (where it makes sense), work on performance optimization, code for various platforms…but most importantly - have a lot of impact on the final product.
So if you want to move from web development into full-fledged apps, get in touch. Our applications are used by millions of people every day.
What good is a flashy app that lets you down in the worst moment? There is nothing more annoying than a buggy application that crashes for mysterious reasons in the most unexpected moments.
It will be your job to make sure this doesn’t happen. You’ll gain a deep understanding of how the application is used by users so that your QA team can run tests that reveal any nasty bugs. You’ll then investigate the problem and interpret it so that the development team can get rid of it. You’ll test for many connected devices and work with a variety of testing tools including our own Smart TV framework. This is a secret project that we are working on. Your feedback will be essential for the final shape of this product.
We are looking for a developer experienced in Roku (BrightScript) development to join us at REMOTE ORIGIN. Or someone brave and curious who wants to learn it!
We are now starting a new project on the Roku platform, which is where you come in with your BrightScript skills.
Don’t give up! We realize, that Brightscript is a rare skill among developers and even more so in the Czech Republic. We are willing to give you time and space to learn Brightscript. If you are a talented developer, it shouldn’t be a problem.
Previous experience with Java, .NET or object-oriented programming in general will make the transition easier, as these languages use similar concepts and syntax.
Although automated tests save a lot of grueling human work, they don’t write themselves.
They need the help of a human (you!). You’ll be responsible for understanding the defined testing scenarios and flipping them into code. You’ll then run these tests and make sure they stay on track. You’ll work with many connected devices and various testing tools including our own. After your tests reveal those ugly bugs, you’ll interpret them and report back to development so that we can get rid of them.
This job is an excellent opportunity to grow your skills in the highly demanded field of automation and software testing.
Sometimes automated testing doesn’t do the trick - humans still can’t be replaced by automation when it comes to testing of dynamically changing GUIs, usability testing or interpretation of defects. That’s where you come in.
In this position, it will be your responsibility to validate applications on various connected devices according to testing scenarios and report back so we can fix the bugs. To do this, you need to get a good understanding of how users interact with the application so you should be familiar with common UX principles. The good news is, programming knowledge is not required for this position, so it could be your foot in the door to get into the industry.
