Deutsche Telekom launches new OTT service

German telecommunications company Deutsche Telekom is to launch an OTT version of its IPTV platform Entertain TV, which at the same time will be rebranded as MagentaTV.

For $7.95, it will offer a stripped-down version of its IPTV service- 75 TV channels (45 of them in HD quality), catch-up TV and access to VOD services.

The new offer will also include ARD plus, ZDF select, the children’s channels ARD plus kid and ZDFtivi with a larger library of catch-up programmes than the standard services of these state-owned TV channels.

The service will initially be available on Android, iOS and Chromecast devices, as well as via a web browser. Other platforms will follow, including Smart TV.
